April 1 marks the grand opening of the third Kings Avenue location in Durham’s Downtown Historic District, an expansion is spearheaded by longtime KA veteran Justin Essing.
Essing, who has mastered many styles ranging from traditional Japanese to realism, will be joined by fellow artists Isaiah Ronan of Empire Tattoo in Asheville, N.C.; Logan Isaacson of Speakeasy Tattoo in Boone, N.C.; and Bryan Humphries of Made To Last Tattoo and Inksmith & Rogers, in Charlotte, N.C. and Jacksonville, Fla, respectively.
Our New York-based artists will be making regular visits to Durham to create tattoos alongside this talented crew.
Mike Rubendall started Kings Avenue when he opened the inaugural location in Massapequa, New York in November 2005. Alongside growing demand and an expanding client base, Rubendall and partner Grez opened a second location in New York City in April 2011 on the Bowery, a street that has played a crucial role in the history of the craft.
At our Durham shop clients can expect to receive the same high-quality work and unparalleled customer experience that many have come to know and love of the Kings Avenue brand.
We look forward to working with returning clients, as well as welcoming new faces into the expanding Kings Avenue family.
We hope you come by to say hello and we are excited to work with you!
