HOW DO I GET TO THE SHOP?


 

 LONG ISLAND 

Located in Massapequa, New York 1.5 miles south of the Southern State Parkway. 2 Miles north of the LIRR. Street Parking is available and the shop is handicap accessible.  If traveling by train please use the Massapequa stop.
 

 MANHATTAN

Located in Soho / NoLita NYC, one mile west of the Williamsburg Bridge or one mile east of the Holland Tunnel. Street parking is scarce, we recommend parking at the NYC DOT Municipal Parking lot on Essex St. We’re also under a 5 minute walk from the Bowery J / Z, Spring St 6, Grand St B / D, Broadway-Lafayette B / D / F / M and Prince St N / R trains.

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR AFTERCARE?


 

Kings Avenue Tattoo is a professional tattoo studio that always uses sterilized instruments and pigments.

  1. Remove bandage after a minimum of six hours.  If bandage sticks to the tattoo, wet the area with lukewarm water and slide the bandage off.
  2. Wash the area gently with mild soap and water, using clean hands and making sure to remove all excess ointment, blood and ink.  Pat dry with a clean towel.  DO NOT SCRUB.
  3. Apply a VERY THIN LAYER of Bacitracin, A&D ointment or Aquaphor 2-3 times a day for 7 days.
  4. After that apply fragrance-free hand lotion until the tattoo settle into the skin (approx. 3 weeks).
  5. NO SUN, NO SWIMMING or SOAKING for 2 weeks.
  6. NO SCRATCHING OR PICKING YOUR TATTOO.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET A TATTOO?


 

There is no set tattoo cost.  Prices vary greatly depending on size, detail, and placement; the best way to obtain an estimate is to stop into either location at your convenience.

IS THERE A SHOP MINIMUM?


 

Yes, the shop minimum is $100.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?


 

In the state of NY you must be 18 years old to get tattooed.  There is NO parental consent law for tattoos in New York State.

ARE WALK-INS WELCOME?


 

Yes, walk-ins are welcome assuming there is an artist available to accommodate them, however the only way to guarantee a spot is to set up an appointment ahead of time.

DO I HAVE TO LEAVE A DEPOSIT TO SCHEDULE A TATTOO?


 

Yes, a $100, $200 or $300 deposit is required to book an appointment. The deposit amount is based on the size of the tattoo and amount of sessions the tattoo will take to complete.

WHAT DO I DO IF I WANT TO GET TATTOOED BY A SPECIFIC ARTIST?


 

To get tattooed by a specific artist in either location please stop into the studio and we’ll be happy to set you up or answer any questions you may have.  If you’re unable to come into the studio in person you can call, email or fill out the information in our ‘CONTACT‘ section and we’ll be happy to help.

WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT?


 

  • Should you need to cancel or reschedule a future appointment we ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice otherwise you forfeit your deposit.
  • If you no longer wish to get tattooed, your deposit is 50% refundable.
  • If an artist has drawn for your appointment your deposit is non-refundable.
